Photographer and florist Tiina Tahvanainen created as
well as photographed the wreaths shown on this year's Christmas seals. The
result is four beautiful door wreaths, which will fit perfectly on any
Christmas door or, as Christmas seals, even as decoration on your greeting
cards.
The Post devotes its proceeds from the sale of
Christmas seals to charity every year. This year's beneficiaries are the Neck
Injured in Åland, Åland Fountain House Association and Germundö Alpin.
The group Neck Injured in Åland is a recently
established subdivision of the association Åland Disabled Persons. The group's
goal is to observe and maintain the interests and social rights of people with
neck injuries. The money received will be used for spreading information about the
group.
Åland Fountain House Association runs Pelaren (the
pillar), a clubhouse model of psychosocial rehabilitation. The association
provides restorative programs for people who are or have been in contact with
psychiatric care. The donation will be spent on a hobby greenhouse, perfectly
suited for the clubhouse activities aiming at improving the working capacity of
the members.
Germundö Alpin operates alpine skiing facilities with
two downhill skiing slopes located in Saltvik. The organisation will be purchasing
a rescue toboggan to be used in connection with possible accidents on the
slopes.
The set was released on October 7.
